Whether I’m on the road as a musician or shooting portraits for artists and brands, I’m constantly creating and sharing images.
Because of that, I don’t work under a traditional “work-for-hire” model.
I license my photos.
Yeah, yeah… “licensing” sounds boooooring.
Here’s the radio-edit:
You don’t buy photos. You license their use. Every image. Every use. Every time. I retain ownership of the images, and you get permission to use them for specific purposes we agree on.
Every photo I make has a life after it’s taken. This is how we decide where it goes.
Simple.
What’s Included
Unless otherwise agreed, you can use photos I’ve shared with you for:
Social Media — posts and stories on your own accounts (tag: @therobmorgan)
Website / Blog — with visible credit: Rob Morgan
Additional Uses (Licensed Separately)
If you want to use images in any of the following ways, I’ll license them based on the project:
Album or Single Artwork (digital or physical)
Press Kits or Promotional Materials
Merchandise
Brand Collaborations or Sponsored Content
Media & Publicity (digital or print)
Streaming Platforms & Artist Profiles
“Didn’t I already pay for the shoot?”
Totally fair question.
Sometimes, I’m asked to use a photo I’ve already taken. Other times, I’m asked to do a photoshoot.
When that happens, the Creation Fee covers making the images… shooting, film, developing, and time.
Usage is licensed separately, based on how the images are used, and outlined in your invoice or proposal.
If you’re an independent artist or working on something scrappy, I get it. Just reach out. I’m always down to make it work. Tell me what you’re working on, and I’ll dial in a license that fits.
Cheers,
