I once heard Noel Gallagher say that album art is the poor man’s art collection.
I believe that. I remember sitting on the floor, staring at record sleeves, or accidentally snapping the arms off jewel cases while trying to dig out the inserts of a new cassette or CD.
My favorite music was always world-building, and I paid close attention to what an artist chose as the visual companion to their sound. To be commissioned, or to have one of my photographs chosen as an album cover, remains one of the great honors of my photographic journey.
